An Overview - of our Maritime Medical services:
With an aim to provide a fit & healthy workforce, prevent medical claims & reduce insurance board premiums, HMDC offers a wide range of services from the basic pre-employment medical examination to repatriation of the sick/injured crew and everything in between. We offer:

COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CHECK-UPS for seafarers at our Medical Clinic
We are approved by the Directorate General (D.G.) of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Govt.
of India & all major flag state Maritime Administrations to carryout medical examinations of
seafarers.

Medical Examination are carried out for:
• Pre-SeaTraining Courses (Pre-placement)
• Pre - Employment Medical Examination (PEME)
• Periodic Medical examinations

These medicals are in compliance with the Merchant Shipping Rules 2000 (of the D.G. Shipping), ISM code - 6.2, STCW 1/9 & ILO convention - 147. The Medicals are also in accordance to the requirements of various flag state requirements & PNI Clubs.

Medical Examinations are also conducted for:
• Indian C.D.C./C.O. C's & M.M.D purposes.
• Panama CDC& Licences.
• Liberian/Marshal Island C.D.C.& licences.
• MCA-UK Licence, Courses, GMDSS etc.
• Singapore Licences / Courses

MEDICAL SPECIALITY REFERRAL SERVICES (MRS)
We have tie-ups with specialist doctors & hospitals and when required, we arrange for specialist referrals for any medical speciality like orthopedics, cardiologists, ophthalmologist, general surgeons, dental, etc.

Dental Care: As part of our MRS, we also have well set arrangements with Dentists at Mumbai & Navi Mumbai for high quality, efficient, economic & cost effective dental care.


SHIPBOARD VISITS-SICK CALL
Our medical team visits vessels when required while on ports / Anchorage and can effectively handle almost all medical problems while on board.

This service is available for Mumbai Ports, Butcher & pirpav jetties & JNPT Ports at Navi Mumbai.

MEDICAL LOCKER STOCKING & CERTIFICATION
We have the expertise to supply / stock cost effective & standard pharmaceuticals & medical supplies / equipments & certify your vessels medical locker in line with International standards for sea-going vessels.

HOSPITALIZATION & INPATIENT CASE MANAGEMENT
We have arrangements with leading specialist doctors & major hospitals for the treatment & management of all types of illness & injury including major surgery. Facilities of major hospitals like - Breach candy, Jaslok, Lilavati, Hinduja, Wockhardt, Masina Hospital, Cumballa Hill Hospital etc are available, apart from other good private nursing homes.

We also have arrangements with Ambulance Services for transportation of the sick & Injured crew. Whenever an injured / sick crew requires hospitalisation b'cos of an accident or any other health issues, this service is available on 24 x 7 basis.

Once hospitalised regular updates on patients condition are given to the company, agency, owner, PNI correspondent etc. and Upon discharge, the agents are assisted with all medical records, prescriptions etc to facilitate a smooth repatriation of the patient to his home country.
We also provide full medically & paramedically escorted repatriations any where in the world.

Our aim is to ensure the sailor is repatriated as soon as possible to his home country for ongoing care at most economic costs.

IMMUNIZATIONS & VACCINATIONS
We have the expertise to deliver travel medicine vaccinations & advice and are fully equipped to deliver the needed vaccinations - like, Cholera, Hepatitis - A & B, Typhoid, Tetanus, Measles, Rabies, DPT, Meningococcal Meningitis etc. We also provide malaria prophylaxis.
